As is the tradition we stay close by on the first day (Sunday,
24 February 2019) acclimatize and go to the CIVETTA slopes.

CIVETTA: Charming and relaxing
A fairy-tale, unspoilt landscape with small, romantic villages surrounds the ski area between Pelmo and
Civetta. The Civetta ski area with the main towns of Alleghe, Seva di Cadore, Zoldo and Palafavera is
situated in the heart of the Veneto Dolomites and in the South-‐East of Dolomiti Superski. 25 lifts and 80 Km. of
slopes for skiers of all levels link the three valleys. The ski resort is surrounded by breathtaking nature and
mountain scenery. Skiers can enjoy night skiing on 5 km. long slopes in Valzoldana. Other ski resorts of the
Dolomiti Superski area can be easily reached using the ski bus service. Very popular is the 1st World War Ski
Tour, which leads to those Dolomites peaks where World War 1 was fought.

PASSO SAN PELLEGRINO - Monday 25 February 2019
We went to the ski area of Passo San Pellegrino with our bus, then with the cablecar up to the Col de Margherita (2513 m) and ski to Falcade. From there over the ski slopes back to the bus.

THE PASSO SAN PELLEGRINO
a wide alpine pass, lies at an altitude of 1918 m., about 11 km from Moena, between Trentino and the province
of Belluno. The Marmolada massif is situated in the north of this pass.
The San Pellegrino is surrounded with other passes: Passo Rolle, Carezza, Sella, Pordoi and Valles -‐ is one of the
nicest, vast and sunny passes in the Dolomites. The San Pellegrino Pass belongs to the Tre Valli Ski Centre,
including also the Valles Pass ( 2031 m. ). At the Passo San Pellegrino you find 64 km of ski runs featuring
different difficulty levels, situated between 1900 and 2500 m. A ski tour connects this area to Falcade thanks to
the well-‐known cableway Col Margherita, that offers 100 seats and connects the pass to Col Margherita. On the
opposite slope instead, there are several ski runs with different difficulty levels. The SAN PELLEGRINO PASS is
located in the "HEART" of the Dolomites Skitour, the skitour "dell'Amore"

PASSO COSTALUNGA -‐ SKI RESORT CAREZZA
|
The original name of the Karerpass is Carezza, which is derived from the German dialect word "KAR" and does mean "KEY". The pass road itself from Bolzano down to Val di Fassa into a villagenamed Vigo is around 40 km long with the shorter piece down fromthe summit to Vigo di fassa, which is just 8,5 kilometers. The pass summit itself is covered with meadows and some lightevergreen woods and is located between the LatermarMountain group and the end of the Latemar Catinaccio.From the pass summit you have a panoramic round view by nearly360gr over to the Ortler mountain, to the Cevedale massif andthe Adige Valley. |

Skiing in Val di Fiemme: Predazzo & Obereggen
Val di Fiemme is an extensive resort set among stunning natural beauty awe-‐inspiring Dolomites.
There are 150 kms of well groomed ski pistes at Val di Fiemme, serviced by 51 lifts offering an uplift
capacity of 72.000 skiers per hour. The resort has a top elevation of 2.145 m and a vertical descent of
1.415 m. The runs here are suitable for all levels, with 40% of slopes for beginners, 40% for
intermediates and 20% for advanced skiers.
There is also the possibility of night skiing. The Italian ski resort of LATEMAR is part of the Val di
Fiemme Ski Area with access to 76 individual pistes.

BIATHLON
BIATHLON is a nice ski discipline.
IT IS A COMBINATION OF CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING AND SHOOTING.
SHOOTING MUST BE DONE BOTH STANDING AND LYING.
How Biathlon works.
Imagine cross-country skiing for 5 kilometers, then with your heart
pounding, your legs shaking, and your fingers chilled from the cold
weather, shooting five targets at 50 meters with exactly five shots.
Then you pack up your rifle and ski another 5 kilometers to the next
of targets.

One of our participants, Lutz Müller-Kirsch, is not only an enthousiastic
skier but also a cross-country skier and shooter.

PARAGLIDING on skis !
With paragliding you don't jump, but you start walking or - in my case - skiing from a slope until the wing lifts you off the ground and you fly.

For me, paragliding
is the most
amazing way to experience
the world from the air. The advantage of paragliding on skis is that after your flight you immediately take the gondola up again, pick up your sticks and enjoy the rest of the day on the slopes of Civetta Ski Resort. |

Arabba - Passo Pordoi - Alba - Canazei

Participants: 11 ARABBA:Arabba is a tiny village in the Ladin-‐speaking part of the Dolomites. Just over the border from its partners in the Sella Ronda, Arabba is actually part of the Veneto region of Italy (the other ski villages are part of the province of the South Tyrol). |
ARABBA SKIING: Arabba's skiing can be devided into three distinct areas: The PASSO PORDOI:The Passo Pordoi is located between the Sella Group in the north and the Marmolada group in the south. The pass is at an altitude of 2,239 m.

ALBA / PENIA DI CANAZEI
|
An attractive resort located at one end of the Fassa Valley,
with it's own ski area on Ciampac. From the centre of ALba di Canazei the cableway "Alba-‐Ciampac 131" takes you up to Ciampac in very few minutes. |

On Thursday evening we enjoyed a very special dinner at a cosy mountain restaurant
accompanied with free drinks, offered by CLUB EPO-‐SKI and we discovered the charm
of night skiing in Zoldo Alto in the Dolomites of the Veneto region, province of Belluno,
you can ski down 5 kilometers of the Foppe and Cristelin slopes.
With CLUB EPO-‐SKI, ski or snowboard by the light of the stars and the
floodlights on the Foppe and Cristelin slopes
