WALKING IN ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAIN RANGES:
THE DOLOMITES WITH CLUB EPO-SKI

PASSO SAN PELLEGRINO:Walk

Walkers are also catered for by us (CLUB EPO-SKI).

Not only in the direct environment of our home base, Hotel Centrale- Alleghe and Hotel Roy – Malga Ciapela, where there are numerous possibilities for walking, but also in the many other beautiful ski areas where we will go to during the week. We always leave around 08.30 am. So have your breakfast in time! Amongst other things we visit the ski area of Passo San Pellegrino. This is an challenging area, not only for skiers but also for walkers. I myself, together with our coach drivers Wim and Arie, made a walk from the Passo Pellegrino and I can't say anything but that it was a very pleasant activity. Around midday we arrived at a super pleasant little restaurant, where we had an excellent lunch (Rifugio – Ristorante Fuciade). It's so comfy inside that you'd like to stay a while longer also because of its position and the fabulous view of the surrounding mountains. But oh well, you have to get back as well , don't you! So, an absolute must!

PREDAZZO:

We also visit the Predazzo ski area. Also here the walker can fill his boots. The village of Predazzo is at an altitude of 1000 meters. It is a picturesque village with a pleasant village center. Very nice to walk through. With the Predazzo-Gardonè gondola you reach the Ski Center Latemar area.
From Gardonè you can make a very nice winter walk: the LA FORRESTA DE. DRAGHI.
Enjoy the beautiful views, absolutely wonderful nature and the many Rifugios, (with regional delicacies!) that you come across along the way. The mountain- walking routes make walking in the mountains a sporty experience

In the Dragon Forest the powerful winged creatures that populate the Latemar have left
eye-catching clues. We look for the signs of their passage along an enchanting route

WalkWalkMALGA CIAPELA - SOTTOGUDA
A beautiful walk through the Serrai di Sottoguda,
situated in heart of the Dolomites.

And for those who would rather not ski on the Saturday 24/2 2024, we can organise a walking tour through a canyon in the local vicinity with magnificent ice structures. The spectacular canyon of Serrai of Sottoguda.

It'definitely worth while to take a walk through this unique gorge.

You can start from two locations: the picturesque village of Sottoguda with its many old and beautiful (wooden) houses and the hamlet of Malga Ciapela, situated at the foot of the impressive Marmolada, the highest mountain in the Dolomites. During the walk you'll come across many frozen waterfalls which are also popular with ice-climbers.

How do you get there?

The gorge is easily reached by the local ski-bus from Alleghe and on foot from our hotel in Malga
Ciapela. Buy your ticket before getting on board at € 4,-- (Tourist Office) or buy it on board at extra
price € 5,-- You can also buy a weekly card at € 10,--
(subject to change).

Is the gorge open or closed for walkers ?

It is advisable to inquire locally beforehand if the gorge is accessible (open ) in connection with precipitation and avalanche danger.

Tip:

Good walking shoes and walking sticks (telescopic) are highly recommended. You feel safer with walking sticks. The extra support helps keep your balance should something go wrong and besides you walk more upright, which is better for your back. Going upwards the walking sticks help to relieve your back and legs and going downhill they help with the braking. Knees and sometimes also hip joints are no longer under too much pressure.
